Ladies Social Bowling Morning
The sun shone, as it should, on the ladies of Denby Dale Bowling Club on a really enjoyable morning of social bowling. The bowling was excellent and the cakes, as ever, were delicious. Let’s do it again soon ladies!
Safeguarding Officer Role
Helen Sansom provides a brief overview of the Safeguarding Officer role and responsibilities for the club.
Every bowling club affiliated with the BCGBA/Bowls England is required to have at least one Safeguarding Officer. The Safeguarding Officer has an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate and has attended an accredited Safeguarding Course.
The Safeguarding Officer has a vital role in creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone involved in the bowls club, helping to cultivate a positive environment of safety and respect within the bowls community. A key responsibility is to record and report safeguarding concerns to Bowls England.
If anyone has any safeguarding concerns either regarding themselves or others then they should contact the Safeguarding Officer to discuss the matter in confidence. The Safeguarding Officer will listen to the concerns in a sympathetic and non-judgemental manner, record the concerns and report to the Bowls England Safeguarding team who will then investigate.
